Our in-person courses are available on a first come, first serve basis with pre-registration and payment reserving a spot. Due to limited class size and availability, we do not offer refunds/rescheduling to absent registrants.
An online course is also offered through the “In Good Hands” program. You can register here. After completing 15 modules on safe food handling and sanitation, participants must contact us to arrange to write a final exam ($10 fee applies with proof of course completion).
**Attention all those who complete In Good Hands online training**
The online course In Good Hands has NOT yet been updated to reflect the changes in the new Ontario Regulation 493/17: Food Premises.
Please review the current Ontario Regulation 493/17: Food Premises or the HPEPH Food Handler Course Manual (2018) for current food safety requirements.
As the HPEPH exam has been updated to reflect the new changes, you need to be aware of the following information:
There is no longer a requirement in Ontario Regulation 493/17: Food Premises to double the strength of your sanitizer for the ‘wash in place’ method. Going forward, follow manufacturers’ instructions.
As well, there is no longer a stipulated freezer temperature (i.e. -18˚C) in Ontario Regulation 493/17: Food Premises. Going forward, frozen food must simply be kept frozen solid (i.e. no specific temperature).
All certifications expire after five years from issue. Contact us to register to write a re-certification exam ($15 fee applies with proof of prior certification). Please note that re-certification is not available for the "In Good Hands" online course.
"In Good Hands" final exams and re-certification exams are held at our Belleville office on the third Tuesday morning of each month. Participants must register in advance and arrive between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
