Food Literacy Workshops

Our train-the trainer style workshops are available for community organizations and/or school staff looking to run their own cooking or food literacy programs.

Service Disruption Notice

HPEPH is advising of an interruption to these services. We apologize for any inconvenience.

More information on upcoming workshops will be posted once available.

Food literacy workshops are offered as a two-session series:

Part 1 – This five-hour session includes an overview of food literacy programs, basic requirements for running a program, food safety, and hands-on cooking so that you can experience a class from a client’s perspective. After this session, you will get access to a shared site that contains all our class outlines, recipes, and handouts.

Part 2 – This optional three-hour session is available to anyone who has attended Part 1.  Information covered includes weight bias and stigma, Canada’s Food Guide, label reading, and finding credible nutrition information.
