Media Release: HPEPH offices and clinics cancelled today due to inclement weather

Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/Jan. 17, 2022

Due to inclement weather and to protect the safety of our staff and the public, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) is closing all offices and cancelling all clinics scheduled for today, Jan. 17, 2022. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The following COVID-19 vaccination clinics are cancelled today:

  • Batawa Community Centre – 81 Plant St., Batawa
  • Prince Edward Community Centre, 375 Main St., Picton
  • Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre – 265 Cannifton Rd., Belleville

Individuals who had an appointment booked at one of today’s clinics, are invited to walk-in appointments at these vaccine clinics for the remainder of the week. For clinic times, please visit at hpePublicHealth.ca  and follow HPEPH on Facebook and Twitter.

You can also rebook an  appointment at covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900.

As well, HPEPH main office in Belleville and branch offices in Bancroft, Trenton and Picton will be closed to the public at 11 a.m. today.

South East Health Unit

As of Jan. 1, 2025 Hastings Prince Edward Public Health; Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit will merge to form the South East Health Unit.

Partners and members of the public should continue to engage with their local public health offices as usual until otherwise directed.

Efforts are underway to develop branding for the South East Health Unit, which will take several months. In the meantime, you will see logos and other advertising material with Hastings Prince Edward Public Health branding. You may also see some documents using the legal name South East Health Unit.

Flu, RSV and COVID-19 vaccine clinic

  • RSV clinics for infants up to 12 months of age (must be born in 2024) and eligible toddlers up to 24 months of age (meeting high risk criteria).
