Media Release: Walk-in Appointments for First and Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Available throughout August

Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/July 27, 2021 –

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is making it even easier for individuals 12 years of age and older to get fully vaccinated by offering first and second dose walk-in appointments (no registration necessary) at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, Prince Edward Community Centre and Bancroft Legion throughout August. Drop in to receive either your first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The sooner you are fully vaccinated, the sooner you can get back to the people, places, and activities you love and miss.

Vaccination walk-in clinics in August

HPEPH invites you to take advantage of walk-in clinics until August 28. Residents who have their second vaccine appointment scheduled on or after August 28 have been notified by HPEPH that their appointments will be cancelled and will need to be rebooked at an earlier date. All residents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the shortened interval (at least 28 days after their first dose) to get their second shot. Walk-in appointments are available to individuals aged 12 and over in need of either their first or second dose of vaccine at:

  • Bancroft Legion: Tuesdays (starting Tuesday, Aug. 10) from 10 a.m. to 2 p. m.
  • Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre: Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Prince Edward Community Centre: Mondays  and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

For the latest information on dates and times that walk-in appointments will be accepted, check our website hpepublichealth.ca/vaccine-booking/ and follow HPEPH on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram. To ensure physical distancing takes place, individuals attending walk-in appointments may need to wait outside prior to their appointment. If you are attending a walk-in appointment, come prepared for the weather and potential to wait by bringing water, an umbrella, wearing sunscreen and hat.

Please note that we will also be offering a limited number of scheduled appointments at selected clinics for individuals that require a specific appointment time. To schedule an appointment go to https://www.canadaehs.com/hpepublichealth/vaccine/
