NOTICE: Public Health Beach Posting

Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/June 29, 2022 – Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) monitors bathing beach water quality at designated public beaches within our jurisdiction. Bathing beach water quality is monitored by the collection and analyses of water samples. Samples are analyzed at a public health laboratory for the presence of E.coli bacteria. When E. coli bacteria levels exceed the provincial standard, the bathing beach is considered unsafe for swimming, and a warning is issued by HPEPH.

The following beaches in our area are presently posted as unsafe for swimming:

Tweed Park – Stoco Lake

Wellington Beach – Wellington Bay

Additional information, including a list of all beaches currently safe for swimming, is available on the Public Beach Reports section at hpePublicHealth.ca. Updated beach reports will be posted on the Friday of each week throughout beach monitoring season.
