Pool & Spa Operator Course

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health now offers a free online training course covering the important elements of safe pool and spa operation.

This course is intended primarily for pool and spa owners/operators and lifeguards.

The course provides information on such topics as: legal responsibilities, infectious diseases, water chemistry and testing, re-circulation systems, facility management, and grounds for facility closure.

Update on Ontario Regulation 565: Public Pools

As of January 1, 2025, Ontario Regulation 565: Public Pools has been updated. To view the full list of changes, please visit the province’s website, where updates are currently highlighted in grey.

The Pool Operator’s Course offered by the Health Unit has not yet been updated to reflect these changes. Despite the regulatory updates, the course content remains relevant.

We encourage you to check back regularly for updates.

As of Jan. 1, 2025 Hastings Prince Edward Public Health; Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health; and Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit merged to form Southeast Public Health (SEPH).
