Agreements have been reached with Local 31 of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) and Canadian Union of Public (CUPE) Local 3314. While services are gradually resuming, please note that some services will not fully resume until later next week or beyond. Regular hours at HPEPH offices will resume on Thursday, October 5.
Breastfeeding consultations will resume the week of October 10. In the meantime, clients are encouraged to contact Health811 by calling 811 or TTY- 1-866-797-0007 or their primary care provider to discuss any feeding concerns.
Childhealth CARELine will resume the week of October 10. Please contact the CARELine to speak with a Public Health Nurse about you or your baby’s health or for infant feeding support at 613-966-5500 | 1-800-267-2803 ext. 223 or by email at careline@hpeph.ca
Food Handler Training will resume in November.
Healthy Schools health promotion activities will resume the week of October 10, and clinics in secondary schools will begin to resume the same week. In the meantime, please visit hpePublicHealth.ca/disruption-youth for a list of available community partners offering services.
Healthy Families home visiting programs (Healthy Babies Healthy Children and Nurse Family Partnership) are resuming immediately. Staff are contacting current clients.
Immunization clinics
- School clinics will resume on the week of October 25 and routine clinics will resume shortly. Please continue to check our website for availability. In the meantime, Clients are encouraged to contact their health care provider for any necessary immunizations. Families can report their child’s immunization records to public health, at hpechu.icon.ehealthontario.ca. If you encounter difficulties, contact our Immunization team at 613-966-5500, ext. 221.
- Influenza and COVID-19 clinics will be scheduled in November. Local pharmacies will be offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines this fall.
Naloxone and safer drug use supplies will be available as per routine schedules and locations, effective immediately.
Oral Health clinics and school dental screening: Oral health clinics will resume on Thursday, October 5. All appointments that were scheduled after October 5 will be reinstated as previously booked and the clients will receive a confirmation call. Clients who had appointments cancelled due to service disruption will be contacted with a new appointment date within the next two weeks. School screening for 2023-2024 will commence as previously scheduled starting the week of October 16.
Sexual Health Clinics will resume the week of October 10. The public can call 613-966-5500, ext. 243 this week to discuss their sexual health needs. For immediate sexual health testing and/or treatment needs, individuals are encouraged to see their primary care providers or a walk-in clinic.
Smoking cessation services have resumed. Clients can anticipate some delays as staff work to connect with all clients. New and existing clients can call 1-800-267-2803 or 613-966-5500, ext. 600, or email TTL@hpeph.ca to speak with cessation staff.
Water sample collection bottle pickup and drop off will return to normal starting Tuesday October 10. Please refer to hpePublicHealth.ca for the most up to date list of locations.
