Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/Jan. 16, 2023

Dr. Ethan Toumishey, Medical Officer of Health for Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) and Dr. Craig Ervine, Interim Board of Health Chair have issued a statement on the passing of Terry Cassidy, former Board of Health Member.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Terry Cassidy. He was a passionate advocate for his community and the larger region of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Terry’s knowledge, dedication and deep commitment to the work of the Board of Health was cherished by HPEPH staff and will be greatly missed.

Terry represented the City of Quinte West on the Board of Health from 2018 to 2022. For many of those years he also served as Chair of the Finance Committee, where his financial prowess was invaluable. Terry’s contributions and service to our community will be remembered by all who had the great fortune to be championed by him and work alongside him.

On behalf of the Board of Health and the staff at Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, we extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Cassidy family at this difficult time.
